Taking place in London's Victoria Park from 16th-18th July, not only have Groove Armada's Andy Cato and Tom Findlay gone and expanded their loved-up genre-bending weekend by a fairly substantial 50% for this year's Lovebox but they've been forced to expand the festival site itself in order to accommodate for an already-eclectically wondrous line up. Following rapturously rip-roaring sets from the likes of Duran Duran, Gang of Four, Wave Machines and The Death Set at the heart of the final summer of the previous decade, the skeleton of this year's line up, sure to be fleshed out by the freshest of band blood and meaty additions over the coming months, is rather killer. Having contributed to Groove Armada's upcoming LP, Bryan Ferry's resurgent Roxy Music return to the live circuit for a Saturday night festival exclusive. Speaking of the announcement, Ferry affirmed that Roxy "of course thought it would be cool" to play the show, something of a reunion amidst the renaissance of glammed-up spangled 70s rock. Elsewhere, the godmother of fashion-music crossover, and seemed hidden inspiration behind the majority of Topshop's seasonal sensations Grace Jones pulls the curtains and house down on Sunday evening, alongside hip hometown heroes Hot Chip, brooding 80s synth poseurs hyped, justifiably, to the high heavens HURTS and clandestine electro champs, Silver Columns. In amongst disco barns and wild(ly) flowing cider, the likes of German house hounds Booka Shade, minimal dubstep guru Joy Orbison, Luke Steele's Empire of the Sun and hermaphrodite heartthrobs Hercules & Love Affair will grace stages, colossal and minute during arguably, London's latest and greatest carnival.
