Following previous announcements over our airwaves that this year's Wireless Festival shall be headlined by New York's omni-faceted renaissance man and most revered trilogist since JRR Tolkien, Jay-Z (joined, at his beck and call by the delectable Lily Allen) and the petite, outspoken silhouette of Pink, the Hyde Park event has plugged itself in to turntables and keyboards of the musical and informational varieties to broadcast the lower frequencies of a reverential weekend in the city. Heading up today's announcement are James Murphy's LCD Soundsystem, returning to British shores in support of their impending Spring release, as well as Murphy's inaugural venture into the lolloping lands of the soundtrack, with Greenberg out next week. Having toyed with retirement, perpetually threatening to draw distinct lines beneath a back catalogue that includes the DIY electro lo-fi akin to the innards of a dark and dingy disco ball contained within their self-titled debut, and the swelling keys at the swooning heart of Sound of Silver, their time is now. Elsewhere on Saturday 3rd July, a rare outing from the original Organ Donor DJ Shadow, a live set from seminal Belgian siblings 2manydjs, slurring leather-clad socialites The Big Pink rack up their highly lauded behemoth Dominos and UNKLE return to the capital, in one capacity or another, overseeing affairs like plastered godparents at a commercial baptism of fire.
The full line up thus far includes:
Friday 2nd July
P!nk * The Ting Tings * The Temper Trap * Gossip * Daisy Dares You * Bowling For Soup
Saturday 3rd July
LCD Soundsystem * 2 Many DJs * DJ Shadow * UNKLE * The Big Pink
Sunday 4th July
