On the Horizon: Bumbling Acoustic Brilliance, Sea Of Bees.

Were Best Coast as infatuated with Prozac as Bethany Cosentino perpetually professes to adore certain strands of flammable shrubbery, the West Coasters may sound a little similar to fellow Californian solitude slumberer Sea Of Bees, whose The Woods EP gets an effervescently merited release today of all days. With a B-side sprawling over a rather abrupt 53 seconds and a title track A-side cosy enough to thaw out Bon Iver's heart were it massacred by a thousand icicles and left to look like some estranged strand of cactus chromosome combo, freak-folk could only sound more jubilant were The Narcoleptic Dancers admitted to The Priory to pen an album based on the genetic origins of every last strain of grass on its immaculate lawn. An ethereal live take on The Woods, recorded amidst the sterility of an old grain silo can be experienced below.
