We've been firm devotees of Teeside truants The Chapman Family, anxiously awaiting a debut record to sink our Pinot noir-stained teeth into for yonks now. So long in fact that when we last caught up with frontman Kingsley Joe McElderry was yet to kindle a concealed hatred for Rage Against The Machine. An avid disciple of Jedward, Kingsley seemingly didn't get his way once again, although following a summer that saw many a guitar splintered, many a stage stampeded consolation was there to be garnered. All Fall sees the oddball quartet as menacingly macabre as ever, as Pop's distinctively distorted bass contorts around a somewhat more accessible BPM and, shock horror, a chorus that's more radio-friendly than Sound Of The Radio. Beefier than a 2-for-1 lunchtime Toby Carvery spit roast, their relentless energy's as inherent, the video to All Fall as visually vehement as ever, shrouded in the band's grisly northern miserablism.
