On the Horizon: Glistening Cat's Eyes.

We're construing Cat's Eyes, the latest Horrors offshoot (this time Faris Badwan's evidently been enveloping his gangly limbs in all sorts of sixties) as this year's Last Shadow Puppets of sorts if Not A Friend is anything to go by... Wafting ethereally along and down aural tubes in a fuzzy, serotonin-stained haze that sounds akin to the faux faded imagery employed by The Vaccines' hipper than Hipstamatic iPhones set to song, the "side project" comprised of Faris and the classically trained Rachel Zeffira played their debut show in... um... the heart of the Vatican, St. Paul's Basilica. Video proof, unless conjured in the locations in which the bastardised blasphemy that was Angels & Demons was conceived, can be witnessed below.

Somewhat more ecclesiastical and infinitely more affecting than that rather glorious Krautrock denouement to Sea Within In A Sea, I Knew It Was Over is the closest you'll get to a contemporary Psalm in this day and age...
