What with this year's Butlins bonanza that is Bloc Weekend now under five weeks away, Dots & Dashes continues its voyage into the brightest lights in the darkest depths of the rundown. Last week we showcased Bernard Fèvre and his Black Devil Disco Club, whilst this week is the turn of Moritz Friedrich, aka Siriusmo, an electro dervish hailing from Berlin touted as the quintessential maestro of everything electronic by the likes of 2manydjs, Yelle, Cassius and more. Signed to Modeselektor's Monkeytown label, Friedrich has often featured alongside Bronsert and Szary amidst the duo's Modeselektion line up, besides his track Das Geheimnis opening up the first volume of their compilation LP alongside the likes of SBTRKT, Apparat and Ramadanman, all of whom are this year set for Minehead. Debut full-length Mosaik sees the light of day later on in the month and all-too-short'n'sharp snippets of the genre-straddling techno opus can be found here, via Siriusmo's Soundcloud. The whacked-out vid to Einmal in der Woche schreien, or Once A Week, Shouting auf Englisch can be experienced in its entirety below. Siriusmo promises to be a synth virtuoso to watch at Bloc and beyond, hopefully capable of displacing Deadmau5 in the hearts, minds and ears of many.
