Festival Frolics: Rocking Around Knebworth Again, Sonisphere.

A couple of years back Dots & Dashes packed black for a weekend of raucousness and rock at Knebworth for the best hefty fest that the south has to offer, Sonisphere. That year was headlined by pastiche metal behemoths Metallica and this year they return as part of The Big 4. Joined by the likes of Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, they dominate Friday's line up. Elsewhere, this year's festival boasts the likes of Biffy Clyro who now find themselves atop the festival circuit foodchain and a welcome return to the UK for masked marauders Slipknot. Fred Durst and his Limp Bizkit also performed in 2009 and they too come back for more leather-clad mayhem in the salubrious surrounds of the stately Hertfordshire home as an English festival exclusive, whilst Rivers Cuomo's Weezer, fantastical prog players Mastodon and Motörhead have also been confirmed.

The full line up thus far looks something like:

Metallica * Slayer * Megadeth * Anthrax * Biffy Clyro * Slipknot * Airbourne * Architects * Diamond Head * Gallows * Gojira * In Flames * INME * Kids In Glass Houses * Limp Bizkit * Mastodon * Motörhead * One Minute Silence * Parkway Drive * Protest The Hero * The Sisters Of Mercy * Volbeat * Weezer
