On the Horizon: The Messiahs are Coming... The Voyeurist.

"Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent."

A statement of intent, a harrowing truth for the dumb. Fortunately for all those gifted with the sense of hearing, however ravaged it may be by excessive exposure to excessively loud music blah blah blah, The Voyeurist are far from silent. The London trio comprised of Sarah, Anna and David meld together industrial disco-orientated indie (think Neu!, My Bloody Valentine, Factory Floor etc., not Brother, Wild Beasts, Bloc Party etc.) that's as incisive as a rabid wasp piercing thumping arteries before injecting them as they continue to pulsate with raw, venomous adrenaline. The frenetic Messiah was the first glimpse we were given into the brooding lifeblood of The Voyeurist, entirely sucked in and sold by its salacious sneer.

Then there's the sultry, chic shimmy of Nazi Won't Dance, now NW1 as lurching vocals writhe with staccato guitars and howls seemingly recorded at the masochistic heart of a slaughterhouse.

His Face Was A Spider meanwhile channels the beguiling menace of Esben And The Witch as bowel-rumbling guitars and military drum patterns contort to ghostly vocals.

Finally Beasts emerged, an agitated and unnerving disquiet that clambers to crescendo amidst a deluge of cascading treble and tempestuous bass ripples.

The Voyeurist play the ATOM night of this year's Roundhouse Rising, the Camden urban festival of sorts that last year hosted the likes of Broadcast 2000, Dots & Dashes hero Gold Panda and Unicorn Kid amongst others. Scheduled for 22nd February, more info can be found here. They then play the NO YORK Festival at ARTCH Gallery on 3rd April.
