Festival Frolics: Dot to Dot to Dash to Dot, Dot to Dot 2011.

Scattered throughout Bristol (Saturday May 28th), Nottingham (Sunday 29th) and Manchester (Monday 30th), this year's Dot to Dot returns, looking as essential as ever. Renowned for cracking a slew of newly hatched acts yearly, the 2011 edition promises to whisk up paralleled frenzy with a superlative rundown of ear-pricking cutting edge. The Bristol leg of the bash comes highly recommended, and this year's bill boasts already-announced headliners Hurts, We Are Scientists, The Naked And Famous and Guillemots. Delving deeper into the line up however, there's a veritable wealth of preeminent acts on the cusp of ubiquity, for which we recommend haunting Scandinavian outfit Niki & the Dove, eerie ethereality from Becoming Real, the chilly, wave-ish stylings of Braids, indelible bubblegum pop courtesy of Dom, and the treble-drenched jaunt of Oxfordians Trophy Wife. Joining those dots to reveal further aural appeal are Dots & Dashes faves The Joy Formidable and a newly formulated live extravaganza from SBTRKT.

The full line ups thus far include:

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead (Bristol & Nottingham)  * Allie Moss  * Alpines * Ben Howard * Benjamin Francis Leftwich * Blawan * Braids * Colourmusic * Cults * Dananananaykroyd * Darwin Deez (Manchester only) * Dom * Ed Sheeran * Fixers * Foreign Office * Get People * Guillemots * Hot Horizons * Hurts * Is Tropical * Lanterns On The Lake (Nottingham & Manchester only ) * Morning Parade * Niki & the Dove * Paramount Styles * Romance * Royal Republic * SBTRKT * Stagecoach * Swimming * The Joy Formidable * The Kill Van Kulls (Manchester Only) * The Lines * The Naked & Famous * The Phoenix Foundation * To Kill A King * Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs * Trophy Wife * Various Cruelties * Veto * We Are Scientists * Wolf Gang * Zebedy Rays
