Festival Frolics: Godspeed! To Wood Green. I'll Be Your Mirror.

We're currently compiling a list of every act we'd flog a limb or two to see this summer. And the majority are already confirmed for the inaugural London leg of ATP's I'll Be Your Mirror. If you've lingered and lurked around this corner of the interweb before you'll know we're worryingly infatuated with the likes of Caribou, Beach House, Liars, The Books, who are all set for the Alexandra Palace bash taking place on July 23rd and 24th, whilst Portishead, PJ Harvey, DOOM and Anika are set to feature in our aforementioned estival hitlist. Yet just when you thought things couldn't get any more monumental, reformed Canadian post-rock behemoths Godspeed You! Black Emperor only went and mucked in. Having missed them last time round back in the December dankness, we're thrilled they'll be back in Blighty beneath headlining curators and Nick Cave's Grinderman on the Sunday of the festival. Also confirmed for day two are esteemed graphic novelist Alan Moore and revered drone doomster Stephen O'Malley who are set to collaborate on a reworking of the soundtrack to Heaven & Earth Magic of 1962. And if your eardrums need a brief let off, a cinema is to be rigged amidst the regal surrounds of Ally Pally, where cult Brit flick of the year thus far Submarine is to be shown, and shown off by debutant director Richard Ayoade who will introduce the off-kilter teen drama on the Saturday.
