Lean your head out of a nearby window and you can probably hear the low thrum of buzz that's already surrounding this release, a collaborative effort between mysterious doom monger Burial and Brit genre hoppers Massive Attack. Vocals wander atop staccato samples, shrieks, and shuffling as Four Walls, picked up from the chopping room floor and dusted down, effortlessly betters anything contained within Heligoland, including the heartfelt throb of the Albarn-featuring Saturday Come Slow. Were Omar Souleyman's chief melody maker to soundtrack Cirque du Soleil, it still probably wouldn't sound anywhere near this unique... The flipside meanwhile is a Burial mix of Paradise Circus from the aforementioned LP.
Released via Inhale Gold and The Vinyl Factory, it's as beautiful a release as is imaginable: pressed on heavyweight 180g 12" vinyl, it is to be housed in a hand numbered screen-printed sleeve designed exclusively by 3D and smothered in golden glitter. Just when you thought you couldn't possibly want it any more rabidly, it's limited to just 1,000 copies worldwide.
Preorder here as of now. These probably won't be around long enough to permit much deliberation...
