It may be Thursday, but this morning's been all about The Whendays, aka Serge and Simon from Stockholm. A pre-baked alliteration if ever there were one, their sound is not so much piping hot as glacially chilled, Untru Love II the sort of steely retrograde funk flow that Gwilym Gold et al. really ought to have been churning out under that Golden Silvers moniker of theirs. Still lodged somewhere in eras past, or indeed floating about in a timeless void with the head of Bradford Cox, The Whendays emit the sort of clammy, sultry soulfulness capable of ameliorating any ordinary morning.
