In a parallel universe, where flowing valleys flourish with an infinite carpet of idyllic greenery and there's not a spot of volcanic dust clogging up the outer atmosphere, the likes of Laura Marling, Joanna Newsom and Wayne Coyne top charts and grab as many headlines as Beyonce in our occasionally mundane striving for self-gratification, the "next big thing" and all that vaguely superfluous nonsense. Brecon's Green Man Festival is about as close a haven to such a paradisiacal realm as you're likely to find this side of New Zealand, and were majestically fantastical aforementioned headliners The Flaming Lips and Newsom not quite enough to quench those earbuds, a veritable myriad of youthful day dreamers have been heaped onto this year's run-down like golden nuggets on a lavender-perfumed compost heap.
Leading the latest spurt of essential acts are west London troubadours and current love birds Laura Marling and Mumford & Sons, Stuart A. Staples' wispy, wicker Tindersticks and Canadian expansive experimentalists The Besnard Lakes. A handful of Dots & Dashes faves from recent months including ex-Czars man John Grant, Danish melodramists Efterklang and Welsh charmers, Race Horses. Other new additions include Jeremy Warmsley's 60s sheen side-project Summer Camp, electro upstarts Chew Lips and Johnny Flynn.
The full line up now looks a little like this:

Tickets for this year's bash are on sale here, with the option of camping in the picturesque park for the preceding week in the run-up to the festival itself. Student discounts are also available. If on the other hand you've entered the dreaded grind of nine to five and are no longer in possession of a valid NUS card, weekend tickets cost a rather reasonable £120.
