Sounding forever more like Jim Reid's ethereal vocal chords fronting the polished drive time rock of the Manics, New York's The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart return with a typically melodramatic, melancholic track or two from as yet untitled sophomore effort. Lost Saint weds minor chords swathed in treble sewn together with xylophone twinkles with murkily pristine vocal harmonies, whilst lead single Say No To Love comes across a little like The Cranberries being wined and dined by The Popguns whilst Real Estate sit and wait patiently for crumbs, beneath the table.
