Festival Frolics: Movin' On Down to Dorset, Camp Bestival.

This year marks twenty since the release of the seminal stupor of Screamadelica, the indelible high point of a rather controversial career thus far for Bobby Gillespie and his Primal Scream. Having already been announced amidst the initial names for September's Bestival alongside The Cure, Brian Wilson, DJ Shadow and other acts of a similarly astronomical calibre, it was today announced (rather enthusiastically via Rob da Bank's Twitter account) that Gillespie et al. are to move on down to Dorset for July's Camp Bestival to round off proceedings on Sunday July 31st. The unfeasibly extravagant blow-out edition of one of this era's greatest records looks a little like this.
Back to Camp Bestival though, on that particular day, they are to be aided in aural pleasuring by Norman Jay and da Bank himself, whilst the English National Ballet promise to provide a hybridised cultural phenomenon on the Castle Stage. Saturday meanwhile sees the welcome return of House Of Pain, whilst Mark Ronson & The Business Intl. headline. Friday sees Debbie Harry's Blondie man the fort, whilst further weekend highlights include throwback melodrama from ABC, hotly tipped crossover popstrels Yasmin and Katy B and Bristol's greatest reggae enthusiast more than content to stick with Kingswood rather than Kingston, DJ Derek. As if any further incentive were required, this year's fancy dress theme is of a medieval persuasion so dust off the chainmail and clatter down to Lulworth Castle.

The full line up thus far includes:
