On the Horizon: You Fucking Want It, Beau and the Arrows.

It's not all that often a 7" drops by in the Dots & Dashes inbox. It's even rarer that it's half decent and falls outside of the forever more gruesome parameters of dub(ious) hybrid. Beau and the Arrows, a racy South East London quartet, are neither gruesome nor vainly attempting to rewire and regurgitate the current genre du jour. Always a decent start. And from there on in the only way is up with their debut EP set for release early next month (April 4th). Comprised of the sparse and sullen Fix and the post-punk-throttling-Krautrock grandiosity of Calming Effects, Beau and the Arrows sublimely unite nonchalance with poignant emotivity. As first impressions go, A-side Fix is particularly forward, as synths reverberate above gladdening baritone vocal harmonies, before lyrics of eternal craving interject.

B-side Calming Effects meanwhile sits atop tumultuous pillars of treble as heartwarming boy-girl dynamic and explicit coos straddle relentless sonic backdrop, insinuating impending eminence of Crystal Stilts swagger.
