Guided By Voices are to return in the guise of their very first incarnation, a brand new
Matador Records-released single in hand. Following on from last year's reunion at the label's 21st birthday bash in the hedonistic haven of Las Vegas, new material from Robert Pollard, Tobin Sprout, Mitch Mitchell, Greg Demos and Kevin Fennell (aptly out November 21st) finally got spewed out by the internet. We Won't Apologize For The Human Race features on the flipside, while The Unsinkable Fats Domino hogs the A-side, and a mammoth slab of lo-fi indie rawk it is too. Clocking in at under two minutes, it's brief, brash, and swirls like the inner wiring of Wayne Coyne's brain squirming out from a crack in his skull, lyrics of impotable water and the mythical "unsinkable fats domino" drifting in and out of all sorts of sanity and coherency.
The track is to be lifted from a self-released LP by the delightfully deranged name of Let's Go Eat The Factory that's due at some point next year, while the single is released digitally and physically on 7" next month. The 7" release is available for preorder
