Forever one to sidestep the usual fuss and furore of surreptitious releases, as does Kieran Hebden, Aaron Jerome oft opts to tease with sporadic drizzles from
his Soundcloud and that's precisely what's gone on this afternoon. Entitled Gloss, this one's a
SBTRKT track alright – its tropical, subtly euphoric lilt attests to that. However with kalimbas exchanged for rhythmic chinks and pot/ pan clinks, and vocals absent altogether it's a concertedly solo effort that'd unfortunately be perhaps all too easy to gloss over in itself.
Last weekend's Latitude showing may have been something of a debacle; Gloss is anything but.
