On the Horizon: Impenetrable Baritone Groans, Areca Grove.

Areca Grove may sound like some Athenian comprehensive in moniker and like Tinman in music (far from a coincidence – they're now these) but their début release on DIY tape label Good Oscillations betters any baseless first impressions of superficiality. Restrainedly rowdy, Colour Test is a ramshackle bluster brought into being by impenetrable baritone groans, harsh snares, and guitar lines interwoven in alluring confusion. Vividly textured and executed brashly, as with Weird Rivers before them once this one's been painted onto your psyche, there it'll stay for quite some time.
