Festival Frolics: Lovebox Gets Herculean

Following this year's Lovebox Weekender initially rolling out grand pianos with gargantuan glam rock stalwarts Roxy Music, chameleonic alt. icon Grace Jones and Bow's Bonkers chart crasher Dizzee Rascal, a further slew of irresistible acts have been added to the East London event. Stone Cold Sober sweetheart Paloma Faith brings aestival theatrics to Victoria Park, joining Bryan Ferry, Mark Ronson and Empire Of The Sun on Saturday 17th July. Brooklyn oddballs and tribal experimentalists Yeasayer are added alongside Faith, whilst elsewhere Tim Westwood lays down ratchets and stops tinkering with souped-up Nissans to spin era-spanning hip-hop as the sun sets over Mile End. Yet more Brooklynites make the grade, in the form of venerated remix behemoth duo Holy Ghost, as they tack themselves onto a closing Sunday bill that already includes a recently rejuvenated Hot Chip, heralded Mancunian pop recluses HURTS and genre/ gender bending from Peaches. West London retro enthusiasts rekindling off-kilter 80s keys Mystery Jets return to the Capital on Friday 16th July, to play amongst the likes of NME darlings The Maccabees and Starry Eyed BRIT-winning sensation Ellie Goulding.
