On the Horizon: Lucid Dreams, Crystal Voyager.

Although Crystal Voyagers may not share much common sonic ground with the likes of Mew & The Raveonettes & Choir of Young Believers & Efterklang (well, they may tread the odd blade of grass trampled by those last two), they already seem as though they may well follow the aforementioned four out of Scandi homelands to gallivant into a more international conscience. And if the 'Crystal' prefix in the moniker may have been sullied slightly of late by ubiquity and the odd spot of awfulness, these quite great Danes already seem capable of polishing down such warped conception. Uploaded around a month ago to the musically meteorological realm where all budding musicians may bloom for a moment or two, this collection of four demos demonstrates an encyclopaedic awareness of the wares with which they tinker: from the pulsating sci-fi swoons of Take My Shades to the sullen SFA-via-Connan Mockasin-via Beach Boys stroll of Falling In, it's all quite transporting. Before You Arrive encompasses the boyish vocal tenderness of Jonas Bjerre and the cinematic quirk of earlier M83 LPs, whilst Another Story To Tell feels like falling through a galaxy of space rock and twinkling acoustics. Presumably denominated thus in homage to David Elfick's '73 surf flick, Crystal Voyagers provide a cleansing wash worth catching.
